Sanctum Mirror

Emotional Wellness

Overview

The Emotional Design course at Pratt Institute focused on the intersection of human psychology, emotion, and design.

In this course we explored and learned about the impact design can have on people’s emotions, both positively and negatively. As part of our course deliverable, we were tasked to think of a product that supports or helps solve problems related to relationships.

I worked with a teammate and we developed the idea of Sanctum, the mirror and app that helps users’ mental and emotional well-being, particularly those negative feelings, like disconnection and anxiety, that the pandemic brought.

The product encourages and aids a user to look inward at the self and reflect through the lens of spirituality. Very literally in terms of reflecting, we worked on a spiritual smart mirror, also paired with an app.
